Suppose I Should...
I suppose I should be listening
to all the omens say:
“this is what you have been waiting for
all this time
Do not give up
all this time.
All this time
Is happiness.”
But I suppose I should be listening
to all my best friends say:
“Not right. Unlikely. Not worth it.
Gross
On the surface
it isn’t pretty
And the surface
Is reality.”
But suppose I begin listening
to what the unknown authors say:
“they have a reason, yes
follow all your friends.
But no, it’s for your happiness, yes
Follow all the
Omens.”
Then suppose I resume listening
to all my family say:
“Be careful, be cautious, be wary, suspicious.
After he has passed the test,
it is only for your own good choice.”
Yes the test has been passed
of good true love and kindness.
But brewing are the damned results
this his smarts and sports
aren’t so generous.
But still.
I suppose I should be listening
to my Creator say:
“Listen to your kin and folk
and the omens I have placed
but mostly to your own pure heart
but more than that,
Me.
You have a good feeling
about him
Given from me.
Why isn’t that good enough?
At the end of the day,
its heavenly love and worldly hate:
You choose.”
But still.
At the end of the day…
I suppose I should be listening
to my own deep spirit say:
“Heed all words,
but take none into account.
Read all messages,
but none let them take root.
It is your choice, your pain
however you end
And no one
Not God nor man
can take or decide that
for me
