She was so full of laughter, she let it spill out of her.
It rushed and crashed down her shoulders like a waterfall
And tried to collect at her hands
But her hands,
Palms to the sky,
were simply too small
To contain a laughter of that nature.
We splash and play in her radiance,
Desperate to engulf ourselves in her.
She doesn’t like that.

And so I rise up.
My life packed into three bags—
The strained strap pulled tight across my chest.
The tears are uncontrollable,
but you loved me just so,
and so we push the sadness to another day.
She leaves,
Her life packed into three bags,
Without a whisper of goodbye
She begins on the road,
Left
Over
Right.
