Singing our Song so Well
Sarcasm, where would we be without it,
It makes us feel alive, and sharpens our wit,
It helps us move along, when things go wrong,
It weaves our sorrow, into a bitter song,
Sang through us, put out in a positive way,
It tells of tears shed, the need of a better day,
In it, you can hear a deep sense of sorrow,
A sorrow that wont go away by tomorrow,
One that is a part of us, one with out heart,
It carries us forth, a chain of hope it will start,
It holds our pain, helping us to keep moving forward,
For those who have heard what lies beneath, it’s struck a chord,
And for those who live by its creed, we fully understand,
That nothing knocks us down, except a betraying hand,
We come back to our feet, after a fall,
Simply resuming the search for our call,
Looking for our reason to live, our purpose to life,
Shifting through all we know and feel, with an iron knife,
All the while staying sarcastic, singing our song so well,
Hoping others will pick up on the lessons we love to tell.
