Final Meeting
Tons of hands grab her,
Dragging her down.
Farther and farther.
Til She can see nothing but black.
The realization comes sweeping through the door,
like a cold winter draft,
She's all alone in this world,
With no one to love,
and No one to tell.
Her voice cracks as she sobs,
Gently,
Ever so gently.
So no one would hear.
She sobs for her family, her friend, her laughter,
The loss of everything.
She's the only one alive,
All because she slept in the basement,
Her family upstairs,
No one could know that they would miscalculate,
The bombs would drop,
Her life would shatter,
The nightmares would grip with long, black fingers.
She loved him so dear....
He loved her too. And now he's gone...
And She's alone. With no one to hold.
He shows up in the door way,
A smile on his face,
She runs into his arms,
And one quick embrace.
Where was he all this time?
In a camp, and far away,
Forever dreaming of this final meeting.
