Unexpected Things
Stones lined up,
Row by row.
Two spots claimed,
By him and her.
Knowing one day,
Their time will finally come.
Years passed by.
A new member born.
Too soon he was growing up.
Off to college he met his love.
A ring on her finger,
Two more spots claimed.
So when that day did come,
Together they would forever be.
Terrible things happen,
They know that now.
Too soon that time came.
A son lost,
A daughter never gained.
One spot filled,
A stone resting atop.
Timing is everything,
Especially now,
When together,
Eternally resting,
They can never be.
