Lucy's Flight
Flowers are braided in my hair.
Circulating the room are the dead bodies,
Empty of Life, Love, Happiness.
FLASH
It’s Over.
Life, Death. It’s all relative.
Cousins in fact.
They mourn because they can’t see.
They cry and grieve for the me that was what they remember.
Wasting their tears.
They should be sad for them. Lost in the Limbo of Life.
Shells.
I used to love the seaside.
What takes the rest decades to find out
I knew it in 11 years, 3 months, 1 week and 6 days.
That is why I am the girl who could fly.
That is why I don’t mind that the man was driving too fast
Because that is why I am the girl who can soar in the sky
Like a bird.
I can see everyone from way up here. I think sometimes they see me.
No one should be sad or feel a big gap in their hearts for me.
I am free.
