What Grade 12 Is About
I thought (expected) to see you everyday.
Everyday with a smile on your face,
because that's what best friends do-
they smile through the rain,
they smile through the drinking binges,
the things you do to your body.
They smile and don't care.
But you DID care.
You cared too much.
And that's why you gave up.
Somehow I thought I would be different.
I thought a summer could change me.
I used to think a boy could change me.
Could fix me.
But you never could.
