Swimming
The anticipation of the race,
The excitement of the crowd,
I climb on the block,
As it starts to get loud,
When the whistle blows,
Through the air I’ll fly,
Then I break the surface,
And it’s just the water and I,
I no longer hear the crowd,
Or see the other swimmers,
As I glide through the water,
I care less about being the winner,
Then I take my final stroke,
And my fingers hit the wall,
It doesn’t matter if I win,
Or even place at all,
Because I was doing my thing,
Swimming
