Song of the Wolf
Suffocating,
Can’t breathe,
Pressure,
Weight pushing down
On me,
Like a world
Full of sorrow.
Longing for the rain,
Red drops slowly

Anger stinging,
Sorrow singing,
My voice is heard by none.
All alone,
Wailing softly,
Letting my anguish
Free.
Heart beating
Like a frantic bird
Plummeting to the ground,
Wings clipped by hatred,
Feathers torn by sorrow.
I raise my voice
In song,
A tuneless melody,
Like the lonely
Call of the wolf,
Filled with grief and pain.
Lost,
She stumbles,
Limping and alone,
Injured from words
That burn.
The wolf and I
Are one,
Lonely,
Rejected,
Afraid.
In the silent air
Of the calming night,
We cry tears
Of built up sorrow
And sweat red tears of pain.
Moonlight glints
Off steel,
My hand trembles,
The deed is done.
Shaking with fear,
Fear of myself,
My hand opens
And slowly lets it

To the ground.
Clink,
One quiet sound,
One deafening sound.
It fills my ears,
Never ceasing,
Blocking out all other
Sounds.
It repeats
again and again.
I shudder,
Looking down and
Seeing me,
The true me,
What I’ve become.
