Gone...
We all lose things.
A pencil,
A license,
A cat,
A relationship.
Some things
you cry for
and others, you laugh about.
But, after we laugh
and after we cry,
we shrug our shoulders
and move on.
Or, at least, we try to.
But, inevitably, some things
Sneak up on us
and stab us in the back.
They take away our self control and
They never let us shrug our shoulders,
Never let us move on.
We become held in place
By our losses-
Paralyzed by them, never to shrug again.
