Snow moves
under my feet,
faster and faster.
As my foot pushes left, I move right
and my body flows down the mountain.
Wind whistles around my helmet,
and presses against my coat,
whipping around my presence.
As I glide down this hill
I feel whole, I feel
Complete.
The simple act of strapping
into a pair of skis fills me
with a burst of exhilarating joy,
making me forget
about school, friends, family-
Everything.
I just push left, move right,
and adjust my goggles
as I near the bottom.
