When The War Ended. . .
When the war ended
people danced in the streets
‘no more bombs,
no more guns,
no more death.’
As if time would stop and love would begin
I watched through my window
Two floors above the revelers
about a minute
before turning away
and boxed up the whole afternoon
so I can pull it out for solace
when the war begins
