Let's pretend
That the world is different
A magical
And better
Place

Let's pretend that mistakes can be fixed
And that people can change
Pride never stands in the way
We can forgive easily
Can you picture it?

Let's pretend that everyone is equal
Nobody is judged
Everyone is loved
Everyone is accepted
For just being who they are
Can you picture it?

Let's pretend that the painted flags don't matter
Color doesn't matter
Riches and status
Hold no importance
In our parade as one
Can you picture it?

Let's pretend that we are all united
Religions, races, ethnicities
Standing hand in hand
There is no reason for war
Or conflict of any kind
There is no corruption
No prejudice
No greed
No envy
No anger
Just love for fellow men
Can you picture it?

You can't? Me neither.
But we can always
Pretend

The author's comments:
I live in an area that is very... close minded about anything or anyone that is different. I wrote this on a day when I was really fed up with it all.
