Love's Play
I'm sure you're happy
I'm sure she's happy, too
Of course, she is.
She has you.
But, I'm still waiting in the shadows
As I always have been
Love
Some of the things it can do to a person
I'm just standing in your shadow;
Shoulder to cry on, hand to hold
But she's in your spotlight;
The leading lady
I'm just the under-study
Ready to replace her
I'm not planning on a scheme
Or taking up the roll of the villian
It just bothers me that I'm just another face in the audience
I can't be
You're the director
Choosing her
She makes you happy
And knows all the lines by heart
She knows all the actions
Can I at least be in the script?
