So close, yet so far away

Lower than before
it's up I look
the higher I soar
it's the farther I fall
Dangerously blind
to in love to mind
a prayer to be safe
only it time
I walk to a drum
a beat of it's own
I walk on a path
it's destination unknown
curiously innocent
lovely fire
burning within
a deadly desire
I take my time
play it slow
hold it close
then let it go
