"Life is not about waiting for the storm to pass; it's about learning to dance in the rain." ~Anonymous

"For he loved her, as you can only love someone who is an echo of yourself in your time of deepest sorrow." ~ Orson Scott Card

Formed from nature’s elements
the battle of warmth and cold
heaps of white powder,
sugar grains lumped together.
Slowly eroded
by snow, rain, cars
new forms emerge
as snow grotesques.

I write because it silences the voices in my head.

Wow, I love the contrasts here... You take something simple... The process of falling and melting snow... and you turn it into something interesting, reflective, and elegant. That is the gift a writer. I like this... Alot. Excelent.

I really like the "battle of warmth and cold" theme - I think it would be interesting if the battle theme permeated the rest of the poem - for example, if "lumped" were a more active, violent world. I like the last line a lot. I almost want more - a longer description of the why they are so "grotesque" - nice start though :)
