That I’m not real
Just a figment of your imagination
A ghost of reality
The plague of your mind
The shadow on your wall
The monster under the bed
The tree outside your window.
I’m happy to say
That I’m not real
Unless you make me true
And that’s what most people do.
For I am your fear
The thing that holds you back
With little difficulty
Even though I’m not real
