Heart of Glass
I gave you my all
My hope, my trust
My care, my love
...My heart
All for nothing
In pieces
Nothing
...anymore
We were like two of the same
But we were cut off from our connection
And I was left to be dependent on none
but, myself
Because my trust was crushed
And now it has to be built up again
And gained
Any other man has to fix my heart
Tape it back one piece at a time
'Til I find the right guy who won't break it
Hold it carefully in his arms
As if it were glass
Because it's equally fragile
My heart
It's made of glass
Because of you
I don't give it out to anyone
But, earned
I learned not to be so trusting
That there are people out there who will break me
Over and over
And I know it hurts
But, I suffer through the pain
Because I know in the end, I'll find the right guy
