before I fell

Before I fell,
things were different
no uncomfortable looks
no early dismissal days for painful appointments I dreaded every week for years
no “what happened there?” or “how’d you get that?” questions,
I don’t want to hide scars, I want to treasure them
without the accesssive coverup
just keep being imperfect me will do just fine.

I really love the last three lines of this poem! You seem to have such a strong voice, a strong personality. Your message is clear in a poetic way.
