My Sister Devan
Gift Poem
My Sister Devan
Sixteen years ago,
She was still here
New to this world she was,
The only child.
If she were here still
I would have gotten to meet her,
Know what it was like having a sister.
I would share everything with her,
It would be like having a best friend
That lives with me.
People may say I don’t know what it’s
Like losing someone close to me,
But I do.
I may of not gotten to meet her
But I sure do feel
And miss her.
Mom and Dad sometimes
Cry, and tell me about her.
I understand none could help her.
From Sid’s, it just happens
I hope she didn’t suffer, I hope she passed away peacefully.
In my mind she
Will always be alive,
And strong-
I love you Devan
