Navy-Suited Lady Night
I dance
A fiery escapade
Of madness or insanity
Do I laugh? in the night beneath the
Starry sky,
Why do they call it black if I sing
The navy suiting of night
Even the closest star,
I see what it looked like four years ago
Trapped in its past
It looks like God’s sprinkler spews out
Points…of light and fire
There is no music playing
Reminiscing
Of hot crowds, vulgar auto-tuned beats.
Beer sloshed down a screaming mob.
But listen closely, close your ears.
In the midst of navy-suited Lady Night
Are the chirping of the crickets
(They don’t really chirp. They sqirzz and squizzle and sing –
But don’t we all!!!)
And the rasp of the cicadas mark the ending of the days
Until you are once again conformed into finis.
Is there not relief in the way the day fits us
Into her – his? easily melded way…
I do not choose to dwell.
I just dance to her song in the navy-suited night,
Wait, my lovely.
Wait to break away.
