You have freckles from fishing with her
Scratches from hiking with them
Bumps from wrestling with him
And lines from being alone
I wish I knew what part of your skin was ours
I'd like to ask if they were fresh or old
And ask if it would be better
to have jagged ugly scars
or a blank fresh skin
with no history
and no art
etched permanently across
