Life's A Maze
This pain began just as a child.
My never tamed heart
became uncontrollably wild.
I remember those hot summer days,
I walked out the backdoor for a better gaze.
Nobody's safe. Nobody's sane.
Once you've had
this taste of pain.
I feel so invisible
like a ghost
feeding off the memories of what used to be.
In the backyard
on the swing.
I'm losing my sane.
Broken candy canes.
Ashes to ashes, we all burn down.
Ashes to ashes, there goes the town.
The town we never knew.
Our hearts that never grew.
Two by two. Rue by rue.
The loneliness. The shallowness. The sadness.
Help me out.
