Self-Portrait
Take a look at me
Where am I standing now?
I'm going down, down, down
Pick me up and throw me away
Once again,
You pull my strings and here I am
At your command
Who am I this time?
Once more you twirl me 'round
I'm dancing on a piece of thread
And I don't mind
I'm here for you
So long as you promise to help me Walk down this road,
And I believe
In every word you speak
I can't seem to wash myself off of you
Here I go,
Once again I've lost my sense of control
Yet here you are, smiling,
Trying to convince me that I'm just wrapped up
In my own shattered dreams
And its time for me to wake up
Time to put myself back together
But I can see the start of a new dawn in my skies
Even though I'm still just a stubborn child in your eyes
Two different scenes, which one belongs to me?
Which one is mine?
I guess I'm still the broken pieces
Of the life I tried to leave behind
