To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.

A pain like no other greets me
As a tightness builds in my throat
For you, never more, will I see
In this now seemingly hollow world

Tears spill from my eyes
Almost like a river it flows free
I'm not the only one who cries
After seeing your lifeless form

You lay motionless there in your bed
Muscles tight and eyes open slightly
Reaching down we all touch your head
Feeling the cold flesh beneath our fingers

As you life quickly disappeared
So did a small part of my own
You were someone I adored
Someone who I shared so much with

Today is the first of so many days
That will burn my soul
In a scorching blaze
Such painful days that I must bear

I knew this day was coming
For some time now I prepared
Because you were really hurting
But even still I wasn't ready

I doubt I ever would have been
Because I loved you oh so much
But to see you in pain and so thin
Just broke my heart in two pieces

Forgive me for crying for you
I know that you're in a better place
But this is hard for me to go through
We all are missing you so dearly.

My beloved please be happy
Wherever it is that you are now.

I wrote this for my cat Koobi. He died today (12-2-11) and I just wrote this for him. Got I miss him terribly. He was my baby and had been with me for 17 years (since I was one year old).
