Here I Stand Once Again
Here I stand once again
Under the Christmas lights of my town
Watching as all the couples glide by
On this beautiful night out
It is the day after Thanksgiving
I should be happy
But loneliness has snuck in
All around me
Hand in hand
Are lovers
Whispering into each others ears
Singing to the Christmas carols
Once again
I look around
I see the boys
Some that I have dated
With pretty girls by their sides
But here I am
All alone with nobody by my side
Its funny
How in a sea of people
You can feel more alone
Then anywhere else
Could this be because
It feels as if
Everyone has someone but yourself
I stand here
And wonder
If there is anyone
Like myself
That is standing in this sea of people
Looking lost
Feeling the same loneliness
Maybe tonight
I will find this person
And we can be lonely together
Or just maybe
We can join the other couples
As they glide
Under the Christmas lights
Maybe this year wont end like all the rest
With me eating pizza rolls
And feeling sorry for myself
As I stand under the haze of lights
As I glance up at the stars
I see a glimmer
Of hope
Around I look
And there stands
A boy all alone
Glancing up into the night
All on his lonesome
Waiting in the glow of the Christmas lights
Here I stand once again
