"It isn't where you came from, its where you're going that counts." -Ella Fitzgerald

Ten years old and seven years old
An energized little kid
Going to the beach
Digging for gold

Pulling pranks for fun
All five of us kids
We take turns locking the door
Others were left in the sun

Time sure flies
Seven to seventee
It's what happens
When you close your eyes

In just a year
I'll be on my own
So scared am I
Adult life is here

"so scared I am/ Adult life is here" Again with the reverse syntax! In "Cloud Nine Blue" It was good but in this and in "Trapped In a Cage" It was awkward. However, bucause the rest of the poem was done so well and because I love the subject of missing childhood and wishing that being a grownup was a little farther away I appreciate this work a little more. It is close to my heart because I have two older bothers who are now, by definition at least, adults who are gone to collage. I can't help but think of when we all were kids playing bike tag, sleding, and playing epic games of hide and seek spread throughout back and front yards of three houses. Now that's something to miss! This poem reminds me that soon what little bit of childhood I have left is near gone. Excellent job. Four stars!
