Broken Home Casserole
They say the kitchen is the heart of the home,
But I say there’s nothing there but spoiled memories.
Broken plumbing sprays out empty dreams.
Stale dishwater fills the sink,
once so hot its spread mist onto window glass
Moist dirty tiled floors-
To slip on,
Bloody rug burned knees.
A painful meter of should be’s.
