Birth
“Push ma’am push,”
Is what the doctor told
A woman in labor.
The tension was like the temperature
In a sauna
Rising.
Climbing to the point of no return
Accelerating to the climax of birth
Faster, faster
The world spins around this woman
And seems like there is no end
And then
The wail of new life is heard
The flurry of tension blooms
Into a rose of infatuation and ecstasy
She lovingly looks into the eyes
Of a bouncing baby boy
Birth.
