Tone deaf
“Math is like music,”
My best friend said,
“Each number a lovely note,
To the symphony in my head.”
I simply nod in response.
Trying to understand,
How she loves writing out the numbers
While I’d rather break my own hand.
What music can she possibly hear,
In the numbers I detest?
I’m wondering if she’s crazy.
She’s wondering if I’m tone deaf.
