"In that dream I'm as old as the mountains,
Still as starlight reflected in fountains"
-- 'Grown Ocean' by Fleet Foxes

In starry night,
Pond skin reflects,
Gives us glimmers,
We see fins, tails

Silver shimmers
Quick! Cast silk threads,
Bright things at ends,
To lure the catch

From sapphire deep,
Silty bottom,
Green shiny rounds,
Topped with lilies

Draw out creatures,
Scales quivering,
Remove their hooks
And place on ice.

This is a 4/4 poem, meaning that there are 4 paragraphs, each with 4 verses and each verse with 4 syllables.

In this poem, I tried to evoke the beauty of a pond on a clear night, and the excitement of fishing
