What A Girl Wants
I want someone to hold me tight
And tell me everything's all right
When I know that everything's askew.
I want someone to take control
And tell me that I'm beautiful,
Even when I know, that's not true.
I want an arm draped over my chair,
Rubbing my back, playing with my hair.
Someone to make me laugh instead of crying.
To make me tell the truth instead of lying.
I want to be noticed, chosen, found,
To feel like a princess about to be crowned.
Instead of the joker, or jailor, or clown.
I want to feel like a treasure lost at sea
Like maybe someone out there has been searching for me.
They will get here, I'm sure, ASAP.
I want someone to call up at night, late on the phone,
Cause what I'm scared of most of all - that's being alone.
