I Remember...
I remember when I used to follow ants.
Then destroy their ant village with one swipe of my foot.
I used to gasp at the sight of deer.
Now, I slam on my brakes to avoid them.
I used to run away from bees.
Now I kill them.
I used to sit on my deck.
Looking for dragonflies and butterflies.
I used to dig in the sand to find gold.
I used to lie on the dock and let the fish nibble my fingers.
I used to dance in thunderstorms.
I used to play with nature.
But someone told me to grow up.
I don’t know how to play anymore.
