She Was Just Afraid
She was reckless and bold,
she did what she was told.
She tried her best,
trying to succeed in every test.
She was poetic and kind,
She would help you out of a bind.
She would even guide the blind.
She would laugh at your jokes,
she was no hoax.
She was hurting inside,
she never lied.
She was afraid to break free,
afraid of what people would see.
In her head the laughed,
she thought it would come true.
She sat in bed crying,
she felt so afraid,
so shut off to her world.
She didn't think anyone would understand,
she thought no one would care.
