Do you remember the rain
When we first met
We stayed out in it all day
Being only three, we chased each other and laughed
And since that day, you, the boy next door, were my best friend
Do you remember how things were
Back when we were too young to know more
Back when time seemed so slow
And the world wasn’t much further than the front door
Do you remember how it was
Before we knew how to count time
Welcoming the moon every night
As if it was some sort of surprise
The days before heart break
The days before mistakes
The days before we started to avoid scraped knees and filthy messes
The days when you’d make fun of me for wearing dresses
Back when stupid and dumb were bad words
Back when we found people kissing really gross
Do you remember when we were 14
And you started leaving me love letters written anonymously
You thought you had me fooled
But by the curve of the words I knew they were from you
Do you remember how we cried
The night you came to say goodbye
The night you were leaving the house next door
That night felt like the end of the world
That day I felt my heart break
As I watched them drag you away
I had never seen you cry till then
And that picture left me haunted
And you disappeared into the sunset
I locked myself in my room for what felt like forever
And nothing could make me feel better
Do you remember our constant calls
They were two or three a day
I still felt sad you were gone
But suddenly you didn’t seem so far away
Do you remember four years later when you came back
I was so surprised to see you were a man
Not the scrawny little boy I loved and knew
But a man with your same baby blues
I guess I myself had changed
And I had worried what remained
We picked up right where we left off
As if everything was the same
Talking all the time and staying out in the rain
Do you remember the night you first kissed me
It was under the stars
For a second the world stopped spinning
I stopped thinking and everything made sense
Believe it or not from that night on I knew
That our love was going to last forever
And forever it would be true
Do you remember our wedding day
The disaster it truly was
How it started raining and everything became a mess
And you laughed and carried me down the isle
And you made me forget about the rain, the dress, the way everything was soaked and a mess,
And you made me feel like if it was just another day running in the rain
Do you remember that old house, our first home
Where we raised our babies and watched them grow
That house on the very same street we met, we lived
The block that to us once seemed like the whole world
Can you remember me?
Can you remember anything?
Do you remember that I love you?
Can you see me from heaven?
I miss you so much.
Whenever it rains I still step outside,
and for a second, I can feel you next to me.
I hear your laugh, I see your same baby blues
You promised you’d never leave me
So for my own sake, I’d like to believe
That every time rain falls on earth
You’re looking down on me
That every time thunder rolls
You’re calling my name
Sometimes the stars wink at me the same way you used too
And for a second I swear the sparkle looks baby blue
I know others don’t believe what I say
They probably think I’m an old lady gone insane
I’m not crazy; I’m just an old victim to love and rain.

There's no god. There's no religion. There's only life, what you do with YOUR life, who YOU let affect YOUR life. Bad things happen to everyone, you just have to learn to deal with them.

That was beautiful. I can tell that a lot of thought and emotions went into making that poem. Fantastic. You are truly a great writer. I wish i could write like you.
