Leaves
May I take leave, under the leaves
That fall at the end
I've seen the green and all between
I've seen the pure and grinned
The hollow breeze, that comes with ease
Passes through the skin
Of all of these, these falling leaves
Falling at the feet of men
I've breathed soft, wandered lost
Came cross fate's hand
How the wicked strain, at window pains
I've aimed at the covered land
Covered with thee, the history
That tumbles from the oaks
And passes with the winds of time
Or under lanterns smoke
So ode to the leaves, as I take leave
And step gentle upon their surface
For all must fall, but of the all
Only they always land perfect
