Victorious
He watches, aware and silenced.
No creature conquers him
His ears, molded to listen for the slightest sound
His heart, cut for the hunt
And his eyes....eyes that only
see the prey, eyes sharp enough
to find the hidden, and layered
with the only two things he
needs: vision, and hope
He expects to return triumphant....
His body lined with jail bars,
he stalks the soon-to-be hunted.
His breath with the rhythm of a freight train.
Target is spotted, crouched
low he breathes, the last breathe,
until he conquers. He leaps.....
the Earth is motionless.
Teeth are daggers as
he thrusts at his kill, maroon
blood streams from the forgotten and lifeless body.
Now he is..... Victorious
