The Matrix
The Matrix moves.
The Matrix feels.
The Matrix is-
The warm flesh moving
Against my heels. The smooth
Stiff leather beneath me.
But. Between my fingers-
It bits. Ferociously. The sting-
Burns into my skin.
Metal clinks against metal-
My only control. Over the Matrix. Yet-
I’m just a passenger aboard.
The Matrix moves. Long. Powerful. Steps.
The Matrix feels like Goliath.
Attached to nothing, I’m falling- free.
My only lifeline- snapping leather
And cold twisted steel.
The Matrix surges. I am tumbling-
Down the rabbit hole. Yet wonderland
Is not there to cushion my fall.
I am lost- lost in the matrix.
I am born and bred
To tame him. My soul-
It sings as I fall farther into the rabbit hole
Thru wonderland, deep into the heart of the Matrix.
We are one-
Me and my matrix,
my noble stead.
