Tamar
I am funny and a little dreamy,
I wonder how my life would have turned out so far if I didn’t move around so much,
I hear the hum of the bumblebee as she speeds through her busy day,
I see personalities from books come to life before my unbelieving eyes,
I want a solid gold Ferrari,
I am funny and a little dreamy.
I pretend to be a rebellious child,
I feel the ache in my grandmother’s bones,
I touch the lives of others (even in the smallest ways),
I worry over the fact that my mom works too hard,
I cry over the fact that my grandma is dying,
I am funny and a little dreamy.
I understand that I am the child and you are the adult,
I say we should fight against discrimination and racism,
I dream that war will be over, and peace restored,
I try really hard to get good grades in school,
I hope that one day, I will get my solid gold Ferrari,
I am funny and a little dreamy.
