Clones
They march down the halls,
standing straight as can be.
Their shirt tails tucked,
belts securely attached.
They shout as they march,
"One,two,one,two."
They shout in monotone.
They march on,
one behind the other.
"One,two,one,two."
The halls echo loudly,
with blaring voices,
and banging feet.
"One,two,one,two."
They shout as loud as can be.
Until one speaks up,
the littlest of them all,
more different then all the others.
"Why does everyone,"
"have to be the same?"
"This is just so lame!"
"Can't we just be who we wish,"
"and not who others wish us to be?"
She said in a small, squeaky voice.
Everyone turned and stared,
she stared right back.
Ever so slowly,
they untucked their shirts,
and ruffled their hair.
The little one smiled,
and pulled off her pale blond wig.
Underneath,
was an amazing brilliant blue,
splattered with black.
She stood out among the crowd,
but no one stared,
because everyone was,
as different as can be.
