What hath writhed
twisted and mourned?
In the labyrinth
death was born
The Devil's breath
from his own lungs
The angel's kiss
The human tongue
She was and is
the night of sea
She always was
She will always be
She comes to the surface
breaks the black glass
Her hand reaches for freedom
for raw life, she asks
The ocean is her pit
her watery despair
Do not let her up
Do not go down there
