"Through humor, you can soften some of the worst blows that life delivers. And once you find laughter, no matter how painful your situation might be, you can survive it."- Bill Cosby

Gentle beats and cymbals
I hear the words you sing out to me
Absorb into my ear drums
Integrative, imaginative

I convulse my feet to move to the rhythm
Shift ankles and legs
I move my head to your artistic words
With just a simple ease
Reassuring, resurrecting

I let my vocal chords match yours
Flowing notes and lexis
I permit my hands to stream with the verses
Stirring the stagnant air
Energetic, eccentric

I accede to let my body move freely
Activating muscles and bones
I make the music consume me
Until we are one force
Harmonious, heartiness

I close my eyes to shut out light
Relax shoulders and hands
I feel the sudden stop of the sonata
Refill the dormant air
Indolent, impotent

I sense my body fall back limp
Cease feet and head
I fall into a darkened sleep unaided
Until your music returns
Adjudicating, anticipating

I am feeling more and more like there are certain poets who are capable of capturing the heart of a word, really the essence of what a word means. Reading this, I begin to think that you have such a talented sensitivity for verbal existence, because that's needed to write such a poem as this. Perhaps this is sort of a strange compliment, but it's supposed to be a compliment all the same. :)

Very powerful, and in tune with the moment. What more can I say?
