Favorite Quote:
All of the animals except for man know that the principle business of life is to enjoy it.-- Samuel Butler

The young
Toddlers, preschoolers, those of that age;
Start on short walls.
Walls where the rocks are large.
Easy footing, easy climbing.
They reach the top
And understand
The journey.
They reach and see
The picture.
They reach and
Want to reach again.
They want to get higher.
So they do.

The young will grow,
As they do they always
Climb.
However, each wall encountered
Is taller,
Rocks smaller,
Placing harder.
Caves are now appearing.
First short, small;
But growing deeper, longer.
As cliffs get higher.
Caves call for breaks
in climbing.
Time to stop and
explore.

The young are now not
Just young
But have reached young adult.
They are past the
Walls and cliffs.
These people they climb
Mountains
But with mountains come
more caves.
It is not so much as
The climbing but the exploring
which consumes their days.

They are adults now
But still they continue to
Climb, Reach, and Explore.
Occasionally getting lost,
but always finding the end.

Just as in the Society
we climb our own
Walls, cliffs, and mountains;
We explore our own
caves.
We call them
Books.

From Dr.Seuss to Bradbury.
From Good Night Moon
To A Tale of Two Cities.
We climb now. And
We Climb ON.
