Onwards, revised
Passing on, a shooting star –
dancing ‘cross the sky
onwards to the land afar
slipping out a sigh
Rocking back with eyes closed tight
holding fast the truth
What’s done is done; no need to fight –
what’s lost may just be youth
Easing heartstrings full of tears,
gently letting go
of memories kept over years
because of what you know –
Life lives on forever
in the fibers of the soul
leaving only when they’re severed
from the fabric of the whole
Waving to the star
as it passes ‘cross the sky
onwards to the land afar
with no clear reason why
