Things You’ll Never Know
You will never know me.
You will never know the real me.

You will never know that I like my popcorn the best with no butter.
You will never know my favorite artist.
You will never know the color of my bra.
You will never know I thought the word perfect described you.

You will never know how much I cared.
You will never know how much it hurt me to see you with another girl.
You will never know I cried about you at night.
You will never know how I wasted four years on you.

You will never know it took me a year to get over you.
You will never know how good it felt for it to be gone.
You will never know that I found a man better than you.
You will never know that he loves me for just who I am.

Boy, I could write a book about everything you don’t know.
But instead I wrote this poem.
