From Behind The Divider
A translucent glass
Staring into the clarity of my own mind
Realizing the figure staring before me
Was my own
Somewhat my own
Face blank
Nails clean
Hair slicked back
Eyes lost behind lashes
I look
He looks
I breathe
He breathes
But through the glass
The figure moves and transforms
Face animated
Nails covered in paint
Hair shaggy
Eyes penetrating through the divider
Which separates
He and me
Me and me
Me and what I use to be
The present and the past
What I had seen at first
Was actually who I am today
Face unfazed
Nails cut to the skin
Hair in perfect synchronization
Not one strand out of place
When did I change?
How could I not tell?
Distant from myself
Detached from the other side of the
Translucent glass
