I am telling you I'm sorry
I was the red lily, while the rest were simply white.
I was always on the outside, however hard I tried.
They welcomed me with open arms, friendly and held wide,
but I saw the looks they gave me and the coldness in their eyes.
Only one thing was keeping me - what made me want to stay.
My heart jumps at the sight of him, although we're far away.
I was young and naive, and I thought that I loved you,
but it confused my heart to know if it was worth it too.
The love I was so sure of, held by a single string,
broke so quickly that now I doubt almost everything.
Nothing fills my heart and soul, as much as the regret
of leaving you and letting you forgive me and forget.
Because I know I’ll always, remember what I’ve done.
Now it's awkward silences and nowhere can I run.
I think I finally know, the lesson to be learned.
I cannot be afraid, and my heart has now returned.
I come to you with teardrops that are falling from my eyes,
while the shame burns my heart from way deep down inside.
And these mistakes I made; they won't happen anymore.
I am telling you I’m sorry, because I never did before.
