Tainted tears and painted lies
Dream of blackened dragonflies
Whose fire was put out too soon
So now all they do is stare at the moon

Charred wings and scarred hearts
No one knows just where it starts
For her bubble burst a long time ago
Leaving her in the rain with nowhere to go

Haunted chains and wanted blood
Was when the river started to flood
Her sinking in the briny depths below
They want too much so let it flow

Light skin and bright soul
Slowly dimming into coal
With no one to tend her flame
Let her dim, let the devil claim

Tormented heart and demented mind
Not the only one of her kind
Just let her fly
Maybe she will die

Just another blackened dragonfly.

A dark place in the depths of my mind. Hopefully I'll never have to return.
