I Stand
Standing under a streetlight
in the dead of the night
I begin to understand,
That I, am not always right.
I make mistakes that make
you cry.
I try to be civil,
while my heart is pumping
loud.
Jealousy is but the glove
into which evil
slips its hand.
I break with the ones I know,
if it means that alone,
I stand.
I'll stand for what I believe
whilst others
find me wrong.
I'll stand for the right
for you to say what you believe
even if I find you wrong.
I stand under a streetlight,
swinging my arms
in a counter clock wise
direction.
The wisdom that comes
with the disorientation
is bliss.
Stand.
Up.
