Name in lights
My entire life I been told what to and who to be
But now I think its time for me to just be me
As I look in the mirror I don’t know who I am
Tell me, when did my life became such a sham
I should have cleaned up my life a long time ago
Up until now I never understood when people said “get your chickens in a row.”
Instead of sticking with you and being looked down on with shame,
I’m gunna go out there and make something of my name
So you sit here, smoke, drink, whatever just waist your life away
But I can’t do this anymore my life isn’t some game
When I die I want my name in lights
I wanna die knowing I lived the right life

Dang it! my comment didn't post.
Oh well. I like this alot. It is good and has a strong, important message. My only advice is that you use question marks when you write a question. I know that free verse writers arn't fond of punctuation, but it makes it easier to understand.
Now this isn't really cc, but I'm a know it all perfectionest who cant keep her mouth shut(that's where the Loud in LoudDreamer comes from): The sayings are "Get all your ducks in a row." and "Don't count your chickens before they hatch." It is a little interesting to hear them blended together.......
